What we collect

Your email address, given when you claim a free book or begin a membership. It creates your library account (we sign you in with a link by email, so there is no password to keep) and it is how we deliver what is yours.

Your library and reading place: which books are on your shelf and where you left off, so your place is always kept.

Membership records. Stripe processes the payment and holds the card. We receive the email attached to the membership, whether it is running, and the date it renews. We never see or store your card or bank details. They go to Stripe, never to us.

What we do with it

We deliver your books, keep your shelf, and tell you what your membership is doing. If you have claimed a free book or joined, we may also write to you about the lives in our library. Every email we send carries a working unsubscribe link, and one click ends it, permanently and without argument.

What we will never do

We will never sell, rent, or trade your email or any other information about you. We do not profile your beliefs. We use standard analytics (including Google's) to understand how readers find and use the site: pages, sources, and the broad shape of our readership. Never to follow you elsewhere, and never to sell. Cookies here keep you signed in to your library and help those measurements work.

Who holds the data

Accounts and libraries are stored with Supabase, our database and sign-in provider. Memberships and payments are processed by Stripe. The site is served by Cloudflare. Each holds only what its job requires. Books bought outright before the membership existed were processed by PayPal, which still holds those older payment records.

Your rights

Write to [email protected] and we will show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete your account and everything in it, whichever you ask. This applies to everyone, everywhere, not only where a law requires it.
