The Library Card.
This is not an app that meters you. It is the key to a private library of the sacred: 60 complete lives in 180 volumes, each written from within its own tradition, 90 of them narrated in full, and every life this house finishes while you are a member, arriving in your library the day it is done.
$44 a year. One price, no monthly option, no meter running. It renews once a year until you cancel, and cancelling is one click, from your library, at any hour.
$44 a year. It renews once a year until you cancel; cancelling is one click from your library, you keep access to the end of the year you have paid for, and a charge you did not mean to renew is refunded in full within 14 days.
- Everything, at once: all 60 lives, 180 books, every audiobook.
- Every life, every volume, every voice, and every one still to come, for one year at a time.
- Every new life joins your library the day it is finished, while you are a member.
- Rather own one at a time? A title is $3.69, a Complete Life $8, in the Bookshop, and yours permanently.
What $44 a year actually buys
The shelf, entire. 60 sacred lives, 180 volumes, every one already yours to open the minute you join. Read here in the house’s own reading room, listen in its listening room, and your place travels with you between the two, kept to the paragraph.
The voices alone justify the card. 90 volumes are narrated in full. At the going retail price of about fifteen dollars an audiobook, assembling this shelf of voices elsewhere would cost more than $1,350. $44 a year opens all of them, and every narration we finish while you are a member costs you nothing more.
The standard is the product. Every life is told from within its own tradition, reverent, unhurried, without comparative judgment, and every quotation is audited against its source before a book is allowed to ship. Three volumes to a life: the early years, the works and ministry, the enduring teaching. This is biography written as if it matters, because to the people who read it, it does.
The library is still being written. This is the lever no bookstore can offer: the house produces new lives continuously, and which soul is told next is shaped by the readers who write to us and name the life they long to see. Each new life joins your library the day it is finished, at no extra charge, for as long as you are a member. The card you open today is the smallest library you will ever hold.
The mathematics, plainly. Elsewhere, fifteen dollars a month buys you one audiobook a month: about $180 a year for twelve books chosen one at a time. Here, $44 a year opens every book we have and every book we finish while you are a member. Owning a Complete Life outright is $8; at 6 lives the card is already the cheaper way, and it holds 60. Per life, today, that is about $0.73 a year, for a three-volume biography you can read and hear.
Rather own than join? The house honors that too: any title is $3.69 outright in the Bookshop, ebook and audiobook together, and a Complete Life, all three volumes, is $8. What you buy outright is yours permanently. The card is for the reader who wants the whole house open at once.
What a membership is
The Sanctuary is not a shop of separate books. It is one library, still being written. A membership is how you live in it: everything finished is open to you while you are a member, and everything finished from here on arrives without being bought again.
If you would rather own a copy to keep on a shelf, every life is sold in print and ebook through the ordinary bookshops: Ingram, Google Play, Apple Books, Kobo. The membership is the way to read the whole house at once; the shops are the way to keep one life forever.
Giving one
The Library Card can be given to someone else: $44, once, for a year of the whole house. Nothing renews, and their library greets them in your name.
The Invitations stay free
Every life begins with a complete Invitation book, freely given, and it always will. Read one, listen to one, and see whether this house speaks the way you hoped before you are ever asked for anything.
